Tips
Feature graphics that convert
Design for 2:1 landscape. The feature graphic is a wide banner, not a phone screenshot. Use a short headline and one visual focal point.
Keep text inside the safe zone. Google may overlay badges. Keep logos and copy away from the bottom-right corner.
Match your Play listing. Use the same palette and typography as your screenshots so the store feels cohesive.
FAQ
Quick answers
- What size is the Google Play feature graphic?
- Google Play requires a feature graphic at 1024×500 pixels, JPG or 24-bit PNG (no alpha). It appears at the top of your store listing on the web and in promotional surfaces.
- What is cover crop vs letterbox?
- Cover crop scales your image until it fills the entire 1024×500 frame, then trims the edges. Letterbox fits the whole image with bars. Play expects a full-bleed banner, so cover crop is usually correct.
- Does this tool upload my image?
- No. Resizing uses the HTML5 Canvas API in your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
- Can I use a screenshot as the feature graphic?
- You can, but screenshots are tall portrait assets. Cropping to 1024×500 will cut top and bottom. Design a wide banner with a short headline for best results.
- Why PNG output?
- PNG preserves sharp text and UI edges. Google accepts PNG; export JPG from an image editor if you need a smaller file size.
- Is there a file size limit?
- Google Play limits the feature graphic to 15 MB. A 1024×500 PNG is typically well under that.
